City Holdings
Project Requirements
Big Foot Systems were selected to provide custom support systems for 18 Denco condensers situated in three roof locations on the City Holdings building.
After consultation with a local architect, it was specified that the plant was not able to be mounted directly onto the roof surface. This meant a solution had to be found for supporting all the condensers, associated pipe work and ventilation on a mechanical system. The design team at Big Foot Systems were able to offer a one-stop shop for mounting all the roof-top equipment on a combination of complete custom frameworks and H-Frame supports.
The Big Foot frameworks allowed the easy running of pipe work below the mounted units saving space on the roof and cutting the installation time. They also evenly distributed the combined weight of the units across the roof in line with the structural recommendations. A further advantage of the Big Foot framework was the 300mm support height above the roof surface. This avoided any potential damage to the condensers caused by a build up of snow in severe weather conditions common to this site location.
The Big Foot H-Frame sets allowed Denco to manufacture custom supports on site, allowing total flexibility, saving time and money. The supports were constructed using the same foot bases as the complete frameworks, giving a professional look to the installation.
Mr Marshall from Denco commented “We were very happy with the solutions Big Foot Systems provided, the equipment was easy to install and enabled us to get the job done. We found the frameworks both convenient and supplied at the right price, we will certainly be using Big Foot again in our upcoming projects.”
